This year has been a little different for me when it comes to the Holiday season. I now have a little two year old that is very impressionable and is learning about the true meaning of Christmas.
It’s so awe inspiring to see him get excited about the Christmas decorations or the fact that Santa Claus will be bringing gifts just for him on Christmas Eve. Of course now I have started the Elf on the Shelf tradition. At the start of each Christmas season, the elf appears to serve as Santa's eyes and ears, and every night it travels back to the North Pole to report in. Trey’s elf’s name is Dawn, last night after she traveled back from the North Pole she ate some goldfish and left a mess all over the counter. Dawn did leave one goldfish cracker for Trey and is now sitting in the time out chair because she made a mess.
I know that all of you enjoy your families as much as I do. As I get older I am learning that time flies by so quickly. You really have to enjoy the ones you love during the precious moments that you have together.
May your home be filled with the joy of family and friends this holiday season.
Blessings, Jackie Lemons-Shillingburg
